Tim Donahue has been a Connecticut Trial Attorney since 1979. He graduated from Wesleyan University, Cum Laude in 1974 and received his law degree in 1978 from Boston College Law School. Following law school he served as a Law Clerk to Chief Judge T. Emmett Clarie in the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut.

For the first 8 years of his legal career, Attorney Donahue was a trial attorney in the litigation department of the Hartford firm of Halloran & Sage, LLP. He was a partner in that firm when he left in 1987 to join a small Wallingford litigation firm which eventually evolved into Donahue, Durham & Noonan, P.C.

Attorney Donahue has a diverse trial practice which includes representation of both plaintiffs and defendants. He has handled numerous pharmaceutical/medical device cases as well as defended manufacturers in alleged defective total hip and knee claims. He was lead counsel in the case of Vitanza v. Upjohn in which the Connecticut Supreme Court recognized the applicability of the Learned Intermediary Doctrine in the context of pharmaceutical product liability cases. For many years he has served as trial counsel to a chain of retail stores.

His plaintiffs practice involves traditional personal injury claims as well as business disputes.

He has tried numerous jury and courtside cases and has successfully argued appeals before the Connecticut Supreme Court as well as the Second Circuit Court of Appeals. He is often selected by litigants to serve as the sole arbiter in personal injury cases pending in the Connecticut Superior Court.

Attorney Donahue is listed in the Best Lawyers in America, Connecticut Super Lawyers, Best Lawyers in New England and Best Lawyers in the New York Area. He has also been recognized as one of the Top 100 lawyers in Connecticut by the American Trial Lawyers Association.

Attorney Donahue currently serves on the Executive Board of the New Haven County Bar Association. He is a member of the Connecticut and New Haven Bar Associations as well as the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association, Connecticut Defense Lawyers Association and the Defense Research Institute.

Over the years, Attorney Donahue has lectured at Continuing Legal Education seminars on topics including Connecticut’s Product Liability Statute as well as effective deposition techniques.

Long active in the community, Attorney Donahue has volunteered for over 25 years at the Columbus House Soup Kitchen in New Haven. He is on the Board of Directors of St. Martin de Porres School of New Haven, and formerly on the Board of Directors of Cancer Care of Connecticut and the Wallingford YMCA. When his children were younger, he was a little league coach in North Haven for 8 years.
