Barbara M. Dunham is a nurse/attorney who specializes in the defense of medical malpractice and other personal injury claims. Attorney Dunham graduated from the University of Connecticut in 1976 and was awarded her law degree from Northeastern University in 1995. Prior to joining Donahue, Durham & Noonan, P.C., Attorney Dunham enjoyed a long and rewarding career as a Registered Nurse. Working at a major medical center, Attorney Dunham developed sophisticated clinical experience through the rare combination of having had direct care responsibilities for both critically ill adults and children, many of whom had undergone extensive life-sustaining surgeries.
Based on her dual academic degrees and her work experience in both the medical and legal fields, Attorney Dunham's practice has been primarily focused on litigation matters involving complex medical issues and catastrophic injuries. Her analyses of medical and causation issues and her work with healthcare provider clients and experts are an integral part of the firm's defense of medical malpractice and other personal injury cases. She also regularly represents clients in securing social security disability benefits.
Attorney Dunham has been an active member for over a decade in the Connecticut Chapter of The American Association of Nurse Attorneys. She is also a member and former President of the Shoreline branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW), a national organization committed to educational and employment equity for girls and women. A member of the Connecticut Bar Association, Attorney Dunham has been recognized by that organization for her dedication to providing pro bono services on behalf of the Connecticut Pro Bono Network. She is also a member of the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association and the New Haven County Bar Association.
